The Principal Bedroom
A fifteen-foot bedroom under a sea-facing arch, with its own dressing anteroom and a fireplace nook for winter mornings. Early light comes straight through the arch and lies across the bed before it reaches anywhere else in the room. Every surface has to earn its place in a room used at both ends of the day — dressing, undressing, reading, sleeping — none of it hurried, none of it staged.
