Room XX
The Gallery & Stair
The spine of the house, the hallway every other room opens from, where the stair begins. Nothing here is meant for lingering, so what furnishes it has to read clearly at a walking pace — a surface to set something down, a place for the eye to rest between rooms. Light runs the length of it in one line, brightest where a room opens off to either side.
