Room IX
The Entry Hall
The first room anyone stands in — double doors behind, a straight sightline through to the Long Room and the sea beyond. What waits here has one job: receive whoever just arrived, without becoming clutter in a sightline the whole house depends on. Light comes low and level through the open doors, the same light the visitor just walked through.

The room's own light
“Photographed once, under one light.”

The pieces
Everything in this room is for sale
“Lamps glowing gently, even in daylight.”
